South Simcoe Physiotherapy: A Student’s Perspective

by | Feb 21, 2025 | Blog, Pediatric Physiotherapy

South Simcoe Physiotherapy is always happy to have high school and university students shadow our physiotherapists, whenever we are able!  Alex had a university student volunteer with him recently, and this is a post she wrote:

During my time volunteering at South Simcoe Physiotherapy Tottenham, I had the priviledge of observing Alex while he provided care to individuals recovering from injuries and managing chronic conditions.

The experience gave me valuable insight into the daily workings of the clinic, as well as a deeper understanding of the impact physiotherapy has on improving patients’ lives.

One of the most significant things I learned was the importance of individualized care.  I watched how each patient’s treatment plan was tailored to their specific needs, goals, and progress, emphasizing the necessity of a holistic approach to healing.

After observing Alex provide a manual approach, it taught me that experience and different perspectives can be effective to different patient outcomes.

Overall, this opportunity led me to develop insights on my future careet goals.  It gave me a clear understanding of what I am hoping to do in the future.  I cannot thank the staff of South Simcoe Physiotherapy and Alex enough for the support and encouragement throughout my time there.
